Bring a Friend to CORE!
Want to make sure you stick to your resolutions this New Year?
Working out with a friend is a great way to help stay motivated and hold you accountable, and CORE is here to help with that.
From Monday, January 9th to Friday, January 20th we invite all our members to bring a friend along to their small group session. This is a great way to have some fun and share your great experience at CORE with those you care about.
If you would like to bring a friend to your workout, just let your trainer know and we will make sure to have a workout all set up for them; all we ask is they sign a waiver prior to the workout.
Healthy Holiday Tips
It’s that time of year again of holiday parties and busy schedules! But even during this busy time we can still maintain our health going into the New Year. If you follow these tips, you will be able to feel better and achieve better results following the New Year:

1) Keep your blood sugar balanced
By eating every 2-3 hours and having a good combination of proteins, fats and carbs, you will be able to keep a balanced blood sugar and help prevent large cravings. This type of eating is especially important this time of year when most parties are filled with sweet desserts and poor food choices.
2) Bring your own dish
This will be much easier to do at a potluck but at least offer to bring a healthy dish to pass to the party. This will at least give you one great food option during the party!
3) Eat before the party
An easy way to avoid stuffing yourself is to eat a meal before going to a party. This way you will not be as tempted to overeat and it will be much easier to keep your blood sugar balanced.
4) Don’t neglect your workouts
I know your schedule is probably full but making sure you take time for physical movement is very important. If you can find the time to make it in for a workout at CORE that’s awesome, but if not, don’t just scrap working out. Go for a walk with your friends and family (make sure you bundle up!), play with your kids, or do a bodyweight workout at home. Doing a couple sets of slow and controlled squats, lunges, pushups and planks can go a long way! Remember your goals for this season are to get stronger, so make sure you are under control, both with your body and your breath.
5) Have fun!
Enjoy your time with people you care about and do not spend it hung up over perfecting your food and lifestyle choices. If you have a bad meal or miss a workout, forget about it and just get back on track the next day. The worst thing you can do is fret over all the little details and go all-or-nothing. Have some fun and help set yourself up for improved health in January!
Great Gift Ideas!
Looking for that perfect gift for someone special? The holidays are right around the corner and CORE Athletic is here to help!

Share your love of CORE with your friends and family and give the gift of health. We have gift cards available – choose either a specific dollar amount or a training package. This is a great way to strengthen our community with the people you enjoy!
Another great option is the new Moji 360™ Palm. Whether you like deep tissue or gentle massage, Moji 360™ Palm is easy to use and feels amazing. The massage is literally in your hands– you decide when you want more intensity, and the omni-directional rollers break up scar tissue and mimic the strokes of a massage therapist. It’s a great gift for everyone!

Let CORE help you give that someone special the gift of lasting change this season! Stop by the front desk or email kane@coreathletic.com to take advantage of these great gift ideas.

CORE NEWS!!!
Dear CORE Members and friends,
We have some exciting news to share with you! As of this week, we (Andy & Chris) will be passing the leadership baton to CORE trainer, Kane Sivesind, who will be the new owner! We believe that Kane has the vision and skills to take CORE ATHLETIC to new heights. Kane came to CORE with a vision of owning his own fitness facility and has fully invested himself into gaining knowledge and experience in this area over the last several years. Kane also has a strong business background (he has his MBA from Loyola University) and comes from a family of successful entrepreneurs. Again, we can’t communicate enough how excited we are about the future of CORE with Kane at the helm! You probably have several questions filtering through your head right now, so we would like to address a couple of them below….
What is going to change?
Not very much initially. Especially from the perspective of the members. The business name, location, coordinators, classes and personal training will stay pretty much the same.
What will Chris be up to?
I (Chris) looks forward to dedicating more time to training members on the floor. Over the last several years, I have taken more and more day-to-day management responsibilities which reduced my training times to an hour a day. While I am glad to serve CORE in this capacity, I simply love personal training, and missed not being able to do that more. With more training sessions, I will probably be more visible to our members
What will Andy be up to?
I (Andy) will continue to serve Core by training in the morning(s) and assisting Kane as needed for the remainder of the year. When I am not here at Core I will be serving various Non-profits in Madison to create a more holistic health and education program for the disenfranchised on the south side. I also look forward to working together with Tracie Fountain of Tracie Hittman Nutrition to expand health and education towards women and children. Lastly, I am on a mission to find a way to create awareness and educate college students on wellness so that they don’t make the mistakes I did.
What will Diane be up to?
I will continue on as Business Manager, and will be available for member service assistance as well as liaison for Kane to the Trainers and Instructors.
I will be continuing to mentor women in life and business in the Madison area. Diane, along with her husband, we will continue doing marriage, and family life mentoring.
Andy and Chris are very thankful for all our friendships and business over the past 7 years. We are also excited about the future possibilities of Core. Please take the time to read the following comments below from the new leader here at Core Athletic Kane Sivesind.
As Andy and Chris mentioned, I am looking for CORE to make a nice smooth transition and not a whole lot will change in the short term. I am really looking forward to adding to the great foundation that Andy and Chris have set up here at CORE and look forward to serving you all while looking for new members to join our community from around the area.
CORE will be hosting a Kickoff Weekend on Saturday October 29th starting with a free workout in the gym and continuing throughout the day with talks, workshops and workouts and I encourage our current and past clients to come see some of the ideas that we have for the future of CORE. (More details to come!) This is also a great time to bring in any family or friends that you might think could benefit from our services. If anybody has any questions or concerns during the transition I would be happy to sit down and discuss them with you.
A big thank you goes out to all of our current members at CORE. You guys really make CORE what it is today and I look forward to a bright future with all of you.
